Our Observatory Stalwart, the only person with an 'I Love Obs' tattooed on the forearm, is making good recovery, all be it slow. She was discharged from Vincent Palotti and now lives with her sister Heidi, in the Strand, and lovingly being cared for. I was given her sister's cellular number by Shelly Eppel this morning and I soon called to enquire. As it were, Helen was brought to Obs by Heidi to collect a few things from her home this morning, and I was able to go see her there for a short while. Helen is looking much stronger than when I last saw and spoken to her at the hospital, and was able to enjoy a bit of a chat and a giggle with her. According to Heidi, Helen suffers from 2nd stage Dementia, but she still likes to take charge of a few things around her, when not out of sorts. Sheila, Helen's neighbour is, is doing a wonderful task of looking after Helen's place and was helping her around this morning. Debra organised a lovely card last week which were signed by a few of us, i.e from ONW, CPF, OCA,SAPS and a few other Obs friends, which I handed her this morning. Helen told me she likes fruit, chocolates, her sister says Marie's and Lemon Creams as well, as such, 'Not to shabby Nige'. I and a few other will hopefully soon pay Helen a visit in the Strand and will prep a basket of goodies and nice thing'ys for her as from the ONW, OCA, OBSID, and any other well wishers. I have Heidi's contact details and address should you wish to contact Helen or pay her a visit as well. By the way - Helen sends her love to all in Obs, and appreciates our thoughts of her! Kind regards James *James Cowley*
