Just in case you missed it, in today's People's Post there is a news
item re. an AGM of the CPF to be held on 15 May. The venue has yet to
be decided, and the news item comes from the Woodstock Police. The
invitation is directed to "all organisations, NGOs, businesses,
churches and community-based structures". Would-be members are asked
to collect application forms fron Sgt Malila.

[N.B. The constitution says that membership is "open to community-
based organisations or institutions in the community". Does this
include businesses?]

Rather Surprisingly, it doesn't state whether the current CPF has been
annulled or dissolved This can in fact only be doe by the ProvonciaL
Commissioner, after engaging in the dispute-resolution mechanisms
provided for in the Constitution. Has this been done? It also makes no
mention of allegations by Hanif Loomat (Chair of thE WC Community
Policing Board) that the present (or past?) CPF was being run by a
"cabal".

Can anyone throw any light on what is happening?
