Hi ONW Radio users and Patrollers - especially: Bev, Lorraine, Reza, Tony and Howard
Currently I am removing all dead wood non-pattrollers off the ONW Call Sign list, as I need to shorten the list and should give an accurate account of what the ONW comprises of. Should you not have been able to patrol or given up on interacting with the ONW, or not renewed your ONW membership for 2012 period, kindly accept my apology in removing and recovery of your call sign. An audit is being done on all the radios used on the ONW Network as this impacts on the actual annual radio frequency licence feeswhich is due to ICASA licencing authority for 2012 -2013 period of approximately R4,000.00 p/a. I am also removing the Ex VS call signs and adding in the new ORBIS team call signs as they will be the official Observatory Public Security. Progressively over the years, I have been trying to group the call signs into Red, Blue or Orange blocks etc according to the area patrollers live in. As it seems a good time to do it I would like to grab this opportunity to make some strategic changes. Note, persons with their own privately owned radios are kept on the list even though they are not patrolling or become inactive, but I am repositioning one or two of the call signs. The idea is to group patrollers or radio holders living between Rochester and Station Roads as the Red block of the 10's up to 29. Frank's side of Station Road as the Blue block into the 30's up to 39. Below Lower Main from 40 up to 49 alsoas the Blue block. Below the railway line should be the 50's up to 59 as the Orange, Green and Pink blocks. In so doing: - Bev will become and agreed to be Oscar 22 - Lorraine to change from Oscar 42 to become Oscar 24 into the Red block grouping, also agreed. - Dennis being a new member in the Red block to be Oscar 25. - Greg stays as Oscar 26. - Reza, having relocated recently to change from Oscar 18 to Oscar 33 into the Blue block. - Tony Greenwood from Oscar 24 to Oscar 54 in the Orange block. - Green Elephant as Oscar 57 (Orange) to become Oscar 28 in the Red block. (Eish - a green elephant moving from an Orange to the Red's, never mind the Blue's) - The rest of the Call signs are fairly well placed and I am happy to leave them as they are. At first, the changes seem difficult to consider, but is strategically easier to place the mind picture of call sign groups linked to the patroller's residence or business area. I hope you will be willing to accommodate these changes, please let me know as I need to finalise a new Call Sign List pronto, and to notify all concerned. Kind regards *James Cowley* *082 926 1220* *021 448 2824 (t&f)* Observatory Neighborhood Watch: Chairman -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
