About two months ago I noted to SAPS, Metro and Cyclops attendants at a SAPS Woodstock Joints meeting, and later at an OBSID meeting, that the Cyclops camera on Scott and Arnold corner is restricted in viewing South down Arnold Street. This is due to the overgrown Eugenia shrub at the base of the Cyclops pole situated at 20 Arnold Street corner. The shrub/tree obscures the Cyclops camera's view towards your property and all others further South. I raised the issue at a number of meetings and it was minuted to be attended to by Metro/Cyclops and also once noted it to the OBSID Safety meeting etc. - Doing a solo early morning patrol at 4.30 to 6.30 about two weeks ago on 3 July, in order to check on SAPS, OPS, Premier and ADT early morning activity in our area, I noticed that the bush still has not been cut back, and still obscures the view towards your property, and anything else further on South. If you reported the case to SAPS, and if SAPS opened a docket for your incident, only then will a SAPS investigator pursue to check for Cyclops footage. - I dare to note, that there will probably be no footage of your incident, either the camera was facing the wrong direction at the time, or the bush obscured their view. - If you phone SAPS, Metro or Cyclops direct none will give you any info, only the investigator of your case might tell you, without a case, dim luck. However, a few weeks ago the particular Cyclops camera on corner of Arnold & Scott did provide footage which lead to an arrest. Well done to SAPS & Cyclops, but hence and before ...... ?
