It looks as though the lead and brass thieves are back in Observatory again. The parish church of St Michael and All Angels were robbed once again this time not gutters but the church down pipes from the roof gutters. The thieves used a lever of some sort to loosen the bolts holding the down pipes to the stone wall, then broke the down pipes off as high as they could get them. This happened on the St Michael road side of the church. This is going to cost a fortune to repair and replace, and the people that stole them may get a couple of hundred rand's for their evil deed. I hope they enjoy their ride to hell and will probably need to hang onto the down pipes for comfort.
