Rob - how about alarming the pots and setting a trap - would be very
easy to set up a pressure switch under the pots - so when the pots are
removed the contact is broken and your alarm of choice is set off -
there must be some electronics geeks who could wire something up.

Ideally the alarm should sound in your house and not be audible to the
thieves - then perhaps you can catch them red handed
