Dear Inge The situation witnessed is indeed a much unwanted scenario in Observatory and happens at many of our Observatory night clubs, to which only the nearby residents are subjected to, but at the tale end of it, also affects the whole of Observatory negatively.
That the police were on the scene and seemingly were unperturbed by the matter is unacceptable and needs to be addressed, even sad about the response from OPS. However, the only way to address this matter is by way of a * statement/affidavit* to be provided by you, basically using the the information you had given below and adding your name, address and ID details, and requesting the matter to be investigated, to be submitted to the Woodstock Police or the Woodstock Designated Police Officer (DPO) dealing with liquor matters, and requesting a receipt note from SAPS. The police in their follow up should also address the particular liquor licensed establishment as they are responsible to a large degree for their patron's behaviour outside or near their premises. It would also be appreciated if you would provide a copy of the statement/affidavit to the Observatory Community Police Sub Forum (OCPSF): "OCPSF Chair" <[email protected]>, for them in keeping track of our local liquor related complaints and situations. Should you need any further assistance or support in this matter kindly to contact me or the OCPSF.
