I agree with Stan's response. Melanie, the important thing about the 
patrols is that our streets are safer when they are more actively used by 
the community. It's not about playing at being police, and it's not 
intended to replace the police or Obsid, it's just about making sure that 
someone is out and about and the streets aren't empty. I've also been 
pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it's been to get out, and to get to 
know the neighbours better. 

I'd also love it if Obsid could just sort everything out, but I think 
you're being unrealistic about what can be achieved on the very small rates 
that we all pay them. We can disagree with some of Obsid's decisions - 
cameras vs patrollers, etc. - but it's not useful to say, "We pay them, 
they must sort it out".
