Two white cars arrived a few minutes apart from each other. The dealer parked at the top of Roman Road. The buyer arrived shortly after the dealer and parked in front of Reservoir Lounge on Main Road.
The dealer then left his car and walked slowly to the other car and got in at the passenger side. They sat in the car together for about 3 minutes. He then got out of the buyer's car. The buyer sped off. The dealer then noticed me and walked a little faster to his car. He got it and couldn't get out of there fast enough. Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer to the buyer's car but the dealer's numberplate was very clear. The first image is the dealer's car and the second the buyer. This happens under our noses every day. I don't know which is busier, Reservoir Lounge or La Verte because they stop there almost daily. Today I witnessed at least another 18 or 19 deals on the street without even trying to find them. Just there, blatantly trading drugs in full view of the public and when they see me mockingly laugh in my face because they can get away with it. Tomorrow I'll see the same, maybe more, maybe less but guaranteed the 7 addicts that I see at least once daily will cross my path either getting or having got their drugs. The dealers now gather them all on the street before sauntering out of La Verte and then opening a hand and one by one he dishes them out to the addicts. The addicts are now openly smoking and shooting their drugs on the street. They no longer bother to hide too much. Invariably as you pass La Verte, you will see them gathered underneath the staircase at Betting World doing their drugs. Or they do as they did today. The run across the road to the derelict building opposite the Total Garage and sit behind the wall and do whatever they do with drugs. All the while mocking me across the street. Today there were nine of them at the building because they roped a few in from Salt River. The two from Salt River left after a very short while and came to me, apologised for the behaviour which even they didn't find acceptable and said they wouldn't be back. They very often can also be found in the very same alcoves on the street urinating or defecating. Something they feel is their right to do. Is this the kind of social behaviour that we want? -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OPS [Obsid Public Safety] - 24/7 control room TEL: 021-447-1066 or 072-063-1653 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EMERGENCIES: 10111 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ONW email: [email protected] WEB: www.obswatch.org.za FACEBOOK: facebook.com/obswatch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Useful Obs Numbers: obs.org.za/obsdir You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups The Observatory Neighbourhood watch group.
