A resident in Lytton Road had some gardening tools stolen from his garage, he thinks possibly a week ago. And then the scooter was stolen from the church's parking lot on the corner of Wesley and Milton Roads sometime in the morning on Tuesday.
The reason there might be a link is that the tools stolen were a saw, lob shears and hedge shears. Implements that may well have been used to cut through the locks and chains that kept the scooter secured to a tree. The owner of the tools has not reported it as he doesn't think the value is more than R300. It is vital to report everything that is a violation of your property, your rights etc. because that is the only way we can get ahead of the crime. By using information you give us which we forward to OBSID for statistical purposes, and to identify hotspots in the neighbourhood so that SAPS have an idea of the nature of crime that is likely to occur in any particular area at any particular time. That way, they can pre-empt it by patrolling a particular area more often knowing what they might find. And the resources are used more effectively all round. Please report crime.
