Last Friday afternoon (26/2) at about 4pm in the afternoon there was an attempted break-in at our home in Ivy Street. My children and I surprised 3 young black guys (early twenties) breaking in at our front door. They had already cut off the lock and got the security gate open when we arrived home. They jumped over the wall into our neighbour's yard and then jumped over their fence and ran up the road towards the station. They were neatly dressed in jeans and T-shirts and takkies. Thanks to Shepherd from Premier Security for responding so promptly and securing the house for us. Thanks also to Hannes from Obsid who took a report of the incident and phoned twice to make sure we were okay. No thanks to the police who never came despite two phone calls.
