Dear Residents / Members, I recent months we have been plagued by house break-ins and robberies in the vicinity of the railway line with the perpetrators often use the railway line as a hideout or, as means of entering and leaving our suburb undetected.
We met with PRASA two weeks ago in an effort to improve the security fencing and remove the overgrown vegetation from the railway line. PRASA have undertaken to meet the City halfway on the cost of the fence upgrade but they will not assist us with the clearing of vegetation in the short term. Thus, we have decided to arrange a* community cleanup on Saturday, 5 November 2016 from 2pm to 5pm meeting at the Observatory Station*. Please bring your own gardening equipment and refreshments (gloves,saws,shears, chain saws, brush cutters and black bags etc). The idea is to cut back overgrown vegetation and to collect rubbish for Obsid to collect and dispose of on Monday morning. If you can only manage to assist for 1 or 2 hours that would also be great! We expect that it will take a few sessions such as this to complete this massive task, but hopefully this will be a good start! It will also send out a message to PRASA and the City that we are serious about this issue. Please confirm if you are able to assist so we can inform PRASA of the numbers involved.
