I am trying to build ocropus (1308 svn) with the current release of openfst; I am getting compile errors (see ocropus issues 143 & 145), and research suggests that maybe ocropus is supposed to be built with the beta version of openfst (i.e. not the current 1.1 release). Can anyone confirm or deny this? I am having fantastic success with ocropus w/o openfst, and am dying to know what kind of improvements I might see *with* it.
I wouldn't even ask, but I have seen recent examples on the 'net of other people's success building with the latest-and-greatest of both projects (for example, this guy: http://xplus3.net/2009/03/31/ocr-with-ocropus-and-tesseract/ which looks to have been written last week). Details: "./ocr-langmods/fstutil.cc:173: error: 'kSigmaLabel' was not declared in this scope" Looking through the old versions of openfst, this symbol was removed from fst.h before the 1.0 release on 2/26/2009 (it was just a constant).
