Are you using the latest Mercurial version?  Tesseract is not part of the 
default build anymore, so you should not be seeing any Tesseract related errors.

You may need to remove the Tesseract related sources manually, since the scons 
build file may otherwise still attempt to compile them.  Look at something like

hg status | egrep '^\?.*\.(c|h)'

To look for obsolete .cc and .h files.
