Yes, thanks, Duncan, I saw that.  Interesting.

I saw a note from Tom saying that they don't intend to add patches to
scons to make it work on other systems, so I think that fixing the
configure/make build -- and pestering them about using it themselves
-- is the more productive way to go.  And I also don't believe in
using macports, I'm afraid.  My experience with both macports and fink
is that they cause more problems than they address.
