I'm not using scons, using the configure/make build combo. If there is anything you would like me to try for bug reporting purposes then let me know but otherwise I gave up trying to get it to compile on that machine and just installed it in a virtual machine running latest ubuntu. I just needed it for some testing/evaluation purposes so this was good enough and much easier.
