Yes, that's probably a better choice. We're focusing on Ubuntu and just don't have many resources to worry about other platforms. Porting will become more of a priority after the beta release. In terms of performance and benchmarking, please keep the release notes in mind: this is an alpha release with a preliminary character model trained on only a small number of styles. Measuring error rates really isn't all that meaningful until the beta release. It would be good if you could indicate that in any evaluation you prepare.
