Hello,

I'm looking at using ocropus to extract text from old (handwritten)
medical notes. I've put up a page about my compilation experience
with (Debian) Linux at http://fresh.cerch.kcl.ac.uk/technology/building-ocropus/
; the main problem I had was the configure script not adding the
dynamic link library to the Makefile (and then crashing out with
dlopen, dlsym, dlerror references not found errors).

I also wondered if there is a guide somewhere to the various
algorithms that can be selected when running
the programme, and which ones to use for different document/material
types. The main tutorials I can find seem to be written for older
releases of the software.

Many thanks,

Richard
