I think the fix is relatively easy, its just a matter of using the right flag to gcc to get it to create the import library at the time the fixed.oct file is created. I'd be happy to see you propose a patch though as I haven't even gotten around to installing a mingw with compilers yet. This is one of teh things i think has to be fixed before the yet octave-forge release, together with getting the ginput command in octave-forge working with the wxt terminal under windows..
