Could you work your changes up as a patch to the octave-forge SVN?

No problem, but I would really like to have it reviewed and tested
before somebody uses it seriously. I did ask about submitting things
for review/test earlier but got no response.
Typically we expect that octave-forge functions don't have the same
level of certainty in their performance as the Octave core functions,
and so I'd suggest just getting the patch into octave-forge. Also as I
don't expect the new functions effect the performance of any of the
exiting functions you won't break any existing code.. Could you work
this up as a patch today, as then it will be in the next octave-forge
release that Soren is working on?

David

No it will not be done today. I just realized that the file I pulled from
http://octave.sourceforge.net/gsl/index.htm - gsl-1.0.4
does not match the svn octave-forge download version gsl-1.0.5. I must recompile (and test) against the newer version. It looks as though some of the problems I had during programing have been addressed.
