As should be clear, I didn't make a release yesterday. It is turning out
to be fairly hard to actually make the release. The release system makes
a release of all packages at once. The system requires the individual
packages to be installed in Octave, and as such it requires being able
to actually start Octave. The basic problem I'm seeing is that some
packages depend on the 3.1.x series while others depend on the 3.0.x
series. That means I cannot install all packages using one version of
Octave, which is an assumption of the release system.

The summary is that it will be quite hard to actually make a new release
using the current system. So, I could either spend time on fixing the
current system, or finalising the next system. The current system is
quite a mess since it was written over many years by many different
people using different programming languages. My motivation for fixing
this is quite low, so unless somebody steps up and fixes the current
system, then I think focus should be turned to finalising the next
system.

The practical consequence is that I won't be able to make a release in
the very near future. I hope to some time on Friday (which is a holiday
in Denmark), and during next week. So hopefully, I'll be able to have
the new system ready during a week or so. If anybody wants to help out
and speed up the process please speak up.

I do apologise for all the trouble this is creating for everybody. I
really should have finalised the new system long time ago...

Søren
