Thanks. It seems that such a function is not part of Matlab core, so it should probably go into one of the packages. Since I do not know what this function does, I don't know where it should possibly go. Just send the code as an attachment to this mail. We only do this for new contributors and people looking for advice, so it doesn't happen that often. Therefore it is quite acceptable to send code to this list (but please remember to include license information in the file).
