I think if people see orphaned associated with the package they're
more likely to not use it and go for an octave alternative.

I don't think it's orphaned in the sense that if users report bugs we
can still fix them (or at least I can, I'm a biologist after all I
just don't use octave for my bioinformatics), it's just not in
"development". We can look it as a stable and very very small package.
There's only 5 very simple (from a biologist point of view) functions on it.
