Hi,
I am new to Octave and would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all
the developers and maintainers for continuing to create this awesome product.
I used to work in Matlab extensively and am trying to get my old Matlab code
working using Octave. I have used uigetfile() function of Matlab extensively,
whose equivalent isn't readily available in Octave 3.2.4 and Octave-Forge
packages. I am sure many people would have had similar requests for functions
that aren't yet implemented into the packages officially. Is there an
unofficial repository for user-submitted code for Octave that I could browse? I
understand that it is not reliable and will not be supported but it would be
great to see some of my old code working again :)
I am currently using the Octave & Octave Forge (3.2.4) installer for Windows
available at http://octave.sourceforge.net/ . I have installed it on Win7 x64.
I have a lot of Communication related code and there's a "Segmentation Failure"
bug if Communications package 1.0.10 is installed & built. Is there a way to
narrow down on which file is causing it? I may be able to run my script without
the function/file that's breaking Octave. Is it fixed in a newer release of
Octave? If anyone can explain the fix, I can apply it locally to my current
installation, so I don't have to update Octave to newer version.
Thanks,Naresh.
