This separation on the svn repository is meaningless as it's
completely invisible to the users when they are download the package.
I believe it was meant for organization, the code in main was code
that would later be moved into core while extra was code that was
never intended with that purpose. If we could have a legacy section on
the actual site, where the package list was visible...
