I did the following: 1) Downloaded the release ZIPs and associated hashes and signatures 2) Verified the integrity of the release files against the signatures and hashes, with gpg, md5sum and sha1sum. Note: the above is a critical check that we should all be doing for every release. I actually found an error when doing this, that I had not updated the KEYS file on http://www.apache.org/dist/incubator/odftoolkit. Fortunately this was easy to fix without invalidating the release vote. Note: We should drop the SHA1 hashes in the next release and move to SHA256. 3) Verified that the source release had correct NOTICE, LICENSE and DISCLAIMER files. Verified that the pre-built JARs in the bin and doc packages had these files in their META-INF directories. Note: PMC members we should be checking these with every release as well. These are the items that every release must have. 4) Build the src package cleanly on Windows XP with Java 8 and -Ppedantic. No compile or test errors, no RAT warnings. Regards, -Rob
