It may just be me, but i think if your going to make a frontend you might be better off to go all the way and simplify back.
Bitbake definatly could use a frontend but there are two basic types of users that i can see, SDK type users looking to build thier gadget and DEVS who need/use far more than a cursory glance at things. Myself i have nothing against pygtk and have played with it myself, but you may not want to reinvent the wheel and integrate the frontend into an existing project. Minimaly some type of editor and a status window with generic templates to add/inject a package into BitBake. Other projects you could possibly expand for use with OE/BitBake(a very quick search): - ERIC3 http://www.die-offenbachs.de/detlev/eric3.html - SPE http://pythonide.stani.be/ - eclipse http://www.eclipse.org/ On Tue, 25 Apr 2006 23:36:03 +0200 "Diego Municio" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I would like to create a bitbake front-end using pygtk. > I think it could decrease the time that a beginner requires > in order to use bitbake. > Any suggestion about desired features, implementation details, desired user > interface design, etc. would be appreciated. > Thanks. _______________________________________________ Oe mailing list [email protected] https://www.handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/oe
