Spitz (terrier) with SMC2208 USB-ethernet interface works correctly when
establishing and using connection, but any attempt to idle or remove the driver
(either power-switch-suspend or rmmod) causes unit to lock-up, requiring
cold-reboot.
Network Settings application doesn't seem to have any effect on the connection
or on this problem.
