Is it OK to add fromDate and thruDate to FixedAssetIdent entity

Is it ok to add fromDate and thruDate to FixedAssetIdent entity? I know it
may sound weird but our users like to reuse their internal Id for a
fixedAsset after a fixedAsset has reached endOfLife.
