here it's : http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-71 Jacques From: "Rohit Sureka" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > thanks BJ, i just created a Jira issue for it. > > rohit > > BJ Freeman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I have found the most daunting about ofbiz, is the hosting and > maintainence, like backup. > > Most hosting for java applications, like ofbiz is about $400.00/month. > that is hard to compete with stores like yahoo for $45-100 month. > When I express to an business owner they can use their DSL, and the > chores involved, they usually respond in the negative. > > However if you want to have this integrated. create a Jira for new > feature and put you links in there. if enough people vote for it, or > someone else get interested that will be the place to discuss it and > have some progress. > > > > Rohit Sureka sent the following on 6/29/2006 7:57 PM: > > yes BJ, google checkout will be just another payment option, if added to ofbiz. But i think it can be a graet value addition. Many business owners, including me, do not really like the idea of storing and processing the credit card myself, i rather prefer to use paypal or like. Its not just to save on costs but processing cards directly can be quite daunting for a relatively new business given the techincal and legal issues. Therefore having more options can make ofbiz more attractive to new and growing businesses. > > > > Rohit > > > > BJ Freeman wrote: my understanding of the goggle checkout is they provide a shopping cart > > and money transfers, like say paypal. > > > > So if someone already has a website, probably the host does not support > > java, so ofbiz could run. > > > > If someone has a host where ofbiz can run then it has its own Website, > > built in. > > > > Therefore all the goggle would be is another gateway option, along with > > all the others that ofbiz has already. > > > > also the Java code they use has to be ver 1.5 compatible, and ofbiz is > > not there quite yet, even thought some have got to run on 1.5. > > http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/samplecode.html > > > > > > I work with Yahoo stores that offer paypal as an alternative to straight > > CC processing. Just a handful of e-commerce providers support of google checkout, thus ofbiz can still have a first movers advantage if it was made to support google checkout. maybe google will list list ofbiz on its support e-commerce providers page then.
