The rate usually charged up here is $0.00. (Yes, really).
If you're desperate for cash, you should be able to earn far more by
contracting, than by tutoring impoverished students. (There's nothing wrong
with helping students for altrustic reasons though!)
That said, you might want to cut a mutual-tutoring deal with an English
student (see "position", "chargeable", and "pleb")
