Depends where you are coming from:


Win98 - WAY more stable (ie, its NT), but also way more hungry (mine
starts at about 50meg) IMO, 98 is a VERY sick joke. Good for games. or
it was. 2K covers that now.

NT4 - as stable, if not a little more so. I havn't had a decient crash
yet. Hungrier, also - NT starts about 20meg, 2K is about 50. 128Meg
MINIMUM for development, where you would formally get away with 64.

Linux - no contest. Win2K is prettier and easier for most to use, but
Linux is (light)years ahead in stability.

My machine is a K6-2 350 w/ 128meg + TNT2 + 17gigs of disk, and it works
SWEET. My laptop is the next one to get 'done', its a PII 400 w/192meg +
10gig disk. I'm not expecting any problems with it.

BTW, ALL the 'bigwigs' from the US were using 2K at the conference
(DavidI, Charlie C, Blake Stone etc).
