I thought I might comment on this since I am running Vista 64bit and a VMWare VM of Windows 7 and have been giving it a good hammering this weekend after downloading the Delphi XE trial and playing with Datasnap....which is very cool BTW....and currently 77% of my RAM is being used, all 4 cores are ticking over ok (15-24%), and I have the win7 VM running Delphi XE, then the host machine is running Delphi 2010, Winamp, Access, FireFox(which is using the most RAM surprise surprise), 17 Explorer windows(not sure why must not be closing them), outlook, Winzip plus a few other apps, and the ONLY problem I have had is the VM was getting a new IP every so often, so I forced it to use a static IP and now its fine. Both systems seem to be working quite acceptably given the load :-)
