I respectfully disagree. I understand what you're saying; but the nature of
rumors is to spread and distort. The most innocent, well-intentioned
question or comment (which yours certainly was) becomes The Blob, growing
rapidly unrecgnizable. "My experience in corporate america makes me think
there's something going on" as Stage 1 becomes "Ryan Dancey has been fired!
The D20 STL is being pulled! WOTC is going to sue everyone!" at Stage N. You
intended to create no rumor; but it was a rumor seed, most assuredly.

In essence, your comment was a catalyst, which hastened an inevitable rumor
by maybe a day or so at most. I meant these rumors NOT as recrimination but
as an example of how Pandora's Box had already been opened.
