  Hmm. Isn't there an NPC class to cover this? I'm
sure you could easily modify it to allow a PC to get
VP from levels in NPC classes. I'd set it at d6, but
they're not exactly Combat types, either.

  This would also be a very good "second" class for
almost all other classes, with the possible exception
of the Jedi classes, if the player were looking for a
more resourceful, crafty PC... Sure, you can take the
various Crafts and Professions as normal skills, but
some good, all-around knowhow can be deadly in the
right hands.
