That depends.

I suspect that in this simple case, you probably can, provided you can
show that the 'prior art' for the name "Holy Handpick" predates the
publication of the PI'd "Holy Handpick".  If you can't you're dead in
the water in my opinion.

The complication is that it's possible that the >description< of the
"Holy Handpick" in the PI'd source was also PI'd.  Depending on how much
that description (not the game mechanics - I mean the physical
description of the item) matters, you may still be out of luck.
