In my personal opinion I tend to feel that if you want to make such a declaration, just ask. Most people don't mind credits that help push their products. So I'd tend to play it safe.

Note to self... make sure to include a little "license to credit" in all future works. Something to the effect of, "if OGC from this product is used, permission is hereby granted to include the following sentences in conjunction with the OGC: 'The following material is based on Open Game Content from ProductX by AuthorY' and/or 'The following material is a reprint of Open Game Content from ProductX by AuthorY.' These sentences may not be altered and must appear in their entirety in the same font face and size."


A little something like that might solve a LOT of "research" problems.
