EXACTLY. And how is this? Because WotC has the benefit of owning the copyrights to both the original material and the license. Nobody else could have done that. Their aiblity to do that will prevent anyone from matching them with a OGL corebook of their own, regardless of whether or not a hypothetical third party were able to match WotC's resources. The advantage of initial penetration would/will/always shall be WotC's as the originator. We'll also get to see how that grants them influence if they decide to release a 4e without the OGL, as a hypothetical. Were that to happen, I'd really like to revist this discussion and again hear all the arguements as to how owning the OGL doesn't give them any advantage whatsoever, even if that advantage works in cooperation with branding.
