I agree.  The more I think about this, the more it occurs to me that d20 isn't
near as cool as I thought.
Yes, I'm very excited about D&D 3rd Edition.  I'm glad they have revised the
system.
I also agree that having outside independant developers able to use the system
without paying royalties is good.

But, this whole half-assed character creation rule is nuts.  I understand the
justification, but I don't like it.

Maybe I'll just sit down and write my own system.  Publish under the OGL and
make up my own SRD.  Start up a big website and get it slashdot'd.

"d12" anyone?

Send me info on what You think a good system should have.  I'll send them out
to the list once I've got them compiled.  We've got enough developers that the
ideas can be used somewhere even if I don't.
