The Magic Wonder CR Formula is an improved way of determining the
suitability of an encounter to a party. Plug in all relevant stats, and you
can predict to the hit point how well the party will do against a given set
of monsters. By applying the MWCRF, you can precisely balance your
adventures, producing a much more entertaining product.

Because only I have the MWCRF, and because I do NOT publish it but simply
use it in designing my OGC, it is NOT OGC. Because I want people to enjoy my
OGC over anyone else's, I choose to keep it for myself. I Maintain strict
control over the MWCRF, and do not let anyone see it except under a trade
secret agreement. Thus, it is a trade secret.

That's the only example I can imagine: something which makes better OGC, but
is never itself released as OGC.
