Hi Again,
Since I haven't been here for all the conversations there are a few things
I would like to clarify regarding what we might see in the actual
SRD. They may have been answered before (if so I apologize) but please
respond if you know the answer due to an earlier post or if you happen to
work for WOTC. =) For the sake of these questions let us assume a FRPG.
1. My game has warriors. Can I call them Fighters and use a stock fighter
class from the SRD (and will the SRD even have this?)
2. My game has magic. Will the SRD have spells in it? If it does let's
pretend it has Magic Missile. Can I have Magic Missile in my game? Could
I duplicate Magic Missile with different descriptive text and call it Mana
Bolt?
3. If Character Generation is part of the SRD (yes?) and I like it just
the way it is, could I say "See Dungeons & Dragons PHB: Character Creation"?
4. Are the Feats and Skills from the PHB likely to be included in a
generic form? I have heard numerous quick references to monsters,
equipment, etc. but is there a brief list of what we can expect to be
available? Ideally the d20 system will allow me to just copy all the
information on sword stats, mundane animals etc so I can focus on the
development of those things specific to my world.
Not saying any of this directly reflects what I hope to do but it is the
overall concepts that I am curious about. Anyhow, thanks to whoever takes
the time to fill me in!
