I've been generally disappointed with XML books: they're mostly compilations
of unrelated articles with no coherent theme. "XML for Dummies" is (as usual
for Dummies books) a really good intro, but not deep. I hated "XML Black
Book" and "XML Applications". Your mileage may vary for both. I've heard
VERY good things about
"Building Web sites with XML", but haven't read it myself.
And Richard Hale Shaw would KILL me if I didn't mention his XML Boot Camp
(http://www.xmlbootcamp.com); but I suspect that's more cash outflow than
this project justifies for you.
