    Actually, yes.  I am a contributing author for the 4th edition
Talislanta RPG.  There is some discussion on the Talislanta list about
making a d20 version of the game after Tal4 is published, hence my interest.
If we had to straightjacket outselves with (what I percieve as) D&D's system
flaws, it would be a much harder sell.

    AC is simply defined as the number you need to roll to hit.  How that
number is derived is not defined.  In Talislanta, a character's combat skill
determines how difficult he is to hit, not his equipment.  To put that in
D&D terms, you could just say that the character's Base To Hit modifier adds
to AC, and armor itself just soaks damage.
