    Absolutely.  If you tried to play Ars Magica using the D&D system, it
would be a joke.  The D&D magic system simply cannot capture the same feel.
Fortunately, the D20 system doesn't describe a magic system, so you could
simply port the Ars magic system over and it'd still be D20.
