I would like to extend an open apology to Mr. Dancey and to all those on the
group who might feel similarly. By way of explanation, my "day job" is as a
(THE, actually) computer security analyst for the federal judicary. The
ENTIRE court system. I work very high up and report directly to the Office
in the Federal Judiciary that would be the Office of the President in the
Executive branch.

In my day job I am paid to be paranoid, and I am paid to look out for other
people's interests. I am paid EXTRA to be paranoid.

In short, Mr. Dancey's comments above made me consider that I have carried
this attitude onto the lists, and that it might be coming off as
unnecessarily critical of his efforts and of the accomplishments that the
Foundation has made to date. I would like to apologize to all if that in
fact has been the case.

I am very supportive of the foundation and of its goals. I think that Mr.
Dancey has done an incredible job considering all of the obstacles that he
faced, and all of the potential pitfalls that were in his way. A hearty
Hurrah! and I mean that sincerely. I think also that the list has made an
incredible contribution, and am proud to have been along for the ride, so to
speak.

For the record:
1. No, I have never really believed there to be a great conspiracy
(or even a little one). Just a bunch of people doing what they
love and trying to make it pay a little.
2. No, I don't agree >100%< with ALL of the decisions that have
been made, but that is (mostly) none of my business. This is
Ryan's show, and we are riding in his boat.
3. No, I don't argue just to be argumentative. I will only take
a stand when I feel strongly that an improvement *might* be possible.
4. Yes, I think improvements could be made. I wouldn't be human if
I did not think I could improve upon perfection.
5. Yes, I think we have a GREAT thing going here, and want it to
last at least long enough to get my own products out.

Thank you for your attention. I will endeavor to be more sensitive in the
future.

Sincerely;

Dave (Faust)
