Hi,
A lot of messages in here refer to people creating products that have
sections that are OGC and saying that you should just keep the names
of monsters PI to prevent simply copying instead of buying material.
As a gamer I would prefer for the stats and names to be open if the
product was not simply a monstor manual or anything were the main
selling point was the monster.
For products that are just monster description + stats + name etc and
loads of them, I'd prefer that out of any part of the stat name or description
that the NAME was OGC. At least then if I created a new adventure I could
drop in the One eyed Blitzer monster, even if it meant not printing stats and
adding on the front "requires the Monsters book 7"
If a company is scared that a product will be non profitable if too much
is made OGC then thats fine, I just hope that care is taken to decide at least
some sections that could be such as names.
Saying that most of the above may not be possible, or may be required by
the license, having not really fully understood the license I couldnt say.
Any opinions welcome on whether the above is possible or not, and
whether it would ever be likley to occur are welcome :)
bb.
