Is there any particular reason why the spell components are not in the SRD? The spells list the components required, including the "M" where applicable, but the description of the spell doesn't list the component.
So now, a philosophical question. The SRD tells us that the spell doesn't define a material component. If say, as a hypothetical, I write a story about a wizard who steals pearls so that he can identify the magic items in a large treasure horde, is that violating the OGL - the fact that I've now tied "crushed pearls" to the "identify" spell? Which isn't in the SRD... What if I include a merchant that sells spell components, but I don't say which spells they belong to. For instance, sulfur and pearls, and list a price, but I don't say "for all your fireball and identify needs...". Is that OK?
