Not necessarily...

The artists had access to the material in CCII through means other than
the OGL. Meaning that they didn't create their work based on the license
available to the public. Now if someone else created a picture of a
monster in CCII, I think that picture should be OGC.

Of course, if the physical description is directly derivative of a
monster in the SRD then it probably should be marked open in the book.

What I am arguing is that you can separate parts of a monster and say
that certain pieces are derivative of the SRD and other pieces are not.
The standard stat block is entirely derivative, no question. The
description may or may not be.
