Actually, the Zorro show took place in the pueblo of Los Angeles, during the Spanish rule of most/all of California. Zorro, which means fox in Spanish, was Don Diego de la Vega, son of wealthy landowner. He returned from his studies in Spain only to find Los Angeles under the cruel rule of Capitan Monastario.
