my understanding: you can put a TM next to anything you want. there's essentially no regulation of that, so unless someone challenges it, you're fine. it also doesn't guarantee that the trademark claim is valid. but a registered trademark (the little circle-r) means that the USPTO has recognized and approved the trademark. basically, the mark has preemptively gone through (and survived) the challenge process that a claimed trademark would be subjected to if anyone challenged it. -- woodelf <*> [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://members.home.net/woodelph/ Finding consensus and common ground is *dull*!
